The DrafStation RJ-900X has a windows system driver available, compatible with Vista, Windows 7 and Windows 8. For intensive graphics applications, dedicated RIP software is recommended.
The Mutoh DrafStation RJ-900X prints on typical dye sublimation transfer papers ranging from 95 g/m² to 100g/m², making transfer on a wide range of flexible and rigid polyester materials possible. Launched in May 2013, the Mutoh DrafStation RJ-900X replaces the previous models DrafStation and DrafStation Pro.

The DrafStation RJ-900X can be configured for CAD, GIS and graphics applications, using Mutoh’s water-based Dye and Pigment Inks. The DrafStation RJ-900X also works with Disperse Dyes, ideal for digital transfer applications. Mutoh water-based Dye and Pigment inks are 100% VOC free and offer a wide colour gamut, superior line output and sharp edges, ideal for high quality poster printing. Mutoh water-based dyes inks offer vibrant deep colours which are absorbed well into top-coatings and have a wide colour gamut. They are most commonly used for indoor applications. The inks are available in both 110 ml and 220 ml sizes.
Mutoh Dye based inks are suited for interior prints. Dye-based inks have a minimum to moderate UV life and will quickly fade in sunlight. Dye-based inks are not water –resistant so they cannot be used outside without lamination. . UV durability for outdoor use with Dye based inks is short term, up to 1-month.
Mutoh Pigmented inks are ideal for long-term indoor graphics as well as for short term outdoor applications. UV durability for outdoor use with Pigment inks is up to 6 months. Mutoh Pigment inks feature a greater level of fade resistance and are water-resistant. The colour range is smaller than Dye based inks, and over time, the pigments in the ink will cause wear and tear on the inkjet nozzles.
Mutoh Disperse Dye inks are ideal for the dye sublimation applications for printing on transfer paper to produce high quality textile banners, sportswear, and personalised home decoration, mugs, key rings and other gadgets.
