The HP SD Pro 44-in Scanner features an optical resolution of 1200 dpi and an enhanced resolution of 9600 dpi. The HP SD Pro 44-in Scanner scans A1 images at 200 dpi in colour in 15 cm/sec (6 in/sec) and in grayscale as 33 cm/sec (13 in/sec). The HP SD Pro 44-in Scanner scans up to 44 inches/1118 mm and can take a maximum media up to 1168 mm/46 in wide and a media thickness of up to 2 mm/.08 in. The maximum scan sizes are 0 .91 x 26 m (36 x 1204 in), 0.6 x 37.9 m (24 x 1491 in), and 0.3 x 75.8 m (12 x 2991 in). The HP SD Pro 44-in Scanner maximum scan length is 20.6 m (813 in) for a 44-in width image. The maximum scan size is measured using a colour original at 200 dpi and TIFF file formats. For grayscale or black and white originals, the maximum scan width is longer in all cases.

The HP SD Pro 44-in Scanner supports PDF, JPEG, JPEG 2000, DWF, and multi-page PDF generation. The HP SD Pro 44-in Scanner features a straight-through scan paper path for sheet and cardboard originals. Documents are fed face-up, front entry and rear exit. HP document return guides allow for rewind, front-return. The HP SD Pro 44-in Scanner accepts non-abrasive paper, sepia, blueprints, plastic, plastic laminate, foam board, cardboard and newspaper. The HP SD Pro-44 in Scanner has a 500GB hard disk, 4GB memory and features an Intel Core i7 processor. Windows print drivers are included for compatibility with HP DesignJet and HP PageWide XL printers.
