The imagePROGRAF PRO-6100S media handling features front-loading and front output for roll and cut sheet media and can accept a width of 152.4 – 1524mm and thickness of 0.07 – 0.8mm.  The maximum printable length for roll paper is 18 meters, and 1.6 meters for cut sheet.  The maximum printable length for roll paper is 18 meters, and 2133.6mm for cut sheet.  The PRO-6100S supports borderless printing technology, increasing productivity as there is no need for offline trimming.  The 8 ink colours are available in 160ml, 330ml, and 700ml hot swap ink tanks for uninterrupted printing.  The Canon imagePROGRAF PRO-6100S has an easy-to-use, 3.5 colour LCD touch screen operation panel which provides clear menu-driven controls for all functions and informs users of the media being used and the remaining print levels, for assured, non-stop productivity.  The ergonomic design of the PRO-6100S provides a flat top surface for print checking.

The Canon imagePROGRAF PRO-6100S has a number of built-in technologies to enable effortless printing of high quality images which ultimately conserves ink and media.  The robust chassis of the imagePROGRAF PRO-6100S reduces vibrations, which improves the accuracy of the ink droplet placement.  The Auto Skew Correction function guarantees that all types of paper, including thick paper, can be printed without misalignment and enables unattended printing by automatically adjusting for any skew in orientation and feeds the paper/media correctly.  The vacuum feeding system keeps paper flat regardless of paper weight and type during printing, which helps ensure accurate placement of ink droplets on paper.  The PRO-6100S features a standby mode, which will periodically agitate the ink tanks and warms up the print head, keeping ink from drying up inside and clogging nozzles.  In the event that a nozzle gets clogged, Canon has a non-firing nozzle detection and compensation system, which turns on back –up nozzles to prevent drop-outs during a print, ensuring highest quality prints every time.

The Canon imagePROGRAF PRO-6100S is a feature-rich large format printer which can produce high-detail, high-quality images when printed on a variety of media, creating images that look as accurate printed as when they were captured.  The imagePROGRAF PRO-6100S printer features Canon’s new LUCIA PRO ink system, an 8-colour system which uses an optimised resin coating for denser ink droplets, increasing the colour gamut.   The LUCIA PRO 8-colour ink system arranges the key colours of cyan, magenta, yellow and matte black in a mirrored layout on the print head.  Additionally, photo cyan, photo magenta, black and grey are used.  Posters with high colour density can be created with fewer print passes at faster print speeds. The LUCIA PRO high longevity pigment ink system includes a newly formulated photo black, matte black, and grey, ensures professional quality and delivers a broader colour gamut without sacrificing productivity.  The LUCIA PRO ink system features dedicated nozzles for each of the black inks (Photo and Matte Black), saving time and ink by eliminating the need to change inks when changing papers.

The Canon imagePROGRAF PRO-6100S guarantees colour consistency between jobs and different production sites.  The PRO-6100S features a built-in colour density sensor to optimise output, adjusting the ink levels depending on the media being used, and ensuring consistent and accurate colour reproduction.  The PRO-6100S has versatile software connectivity which handles a single-user photo studio to a multi-location business, design firm or print service provider.  In addition to the Canon Print Studio Pro Plug-in software for Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom and Canon Digital Photo Pro, the PRO-6100S includes the Device Management Console, an administration tool which allows a lab manager or administrator to organise and control multiple PRO-6100S printers in multiple locations, even remotely in other parts of the world. Monitor ink levels, paper levels, or adjust various device settings all from a single computer.  Use the Device Management Console to calibrate and set up two printers to the exact same specifications, profiles and calibrations, so you can print precisely the same-looking print in two different locations.  The PRO-6100S includes new Accounting Manager software, available for the Mac and PC, which helps organise pricing and supply for ink and paper per a specific print job, great for any educational lab setting or for customer billing per print job.

The Canon imagePROGRAF PRO-6100S ensures the correct balance and mixture of inks, with precise ink droplet placement, to achieve optimum quality photos at a professional grade by incorporating a new Canon’s L-COA (Large Format Common Architecture) PRO Image Processing System.  The L-COA PRO engine works with a 3 GB internal memory core and 500GB encrypted hard drive to process large volumes of data at high speeds.

The Canon imagePROGRAF PRO-6100S is bundled with Canon’s Print Plug-In for Microsoft Office and PosterArtist Lite software.  PosterArtist Lite is ideal for users unfamiliar with design can create professional-looking posters, display items, presentation charts and other large format documents. In just four simple steps you can create professional looking posters, banners and signs using a variety of templates, high resolution, royalty-free images and clipart with PosterArtist Lite.

An optional accessory for the Canon imagePROGRAF PRO-6100S is the dual roll unit, which supports continuous paper feeding and auto-switching, or automatic take-up of printer output.  The Media Take-up roll unit includes a dual direction roll take up unit allowing the print surface to be wound inside or outside of the roll.
