The Canon imagePROGRAF GP-300 Large Format Printer has a number of built-in technologies to enable effortless printing of high quality images which ultimately conserves ink and media.  The robust chassis of the imagePROGRAF GP-300 reduces vibrations, which improves the accuracy of the ink droplet placement.  The Auto Skew Correction function guarantees that all types of paper, including thick paper, can be printed without misalignment and enables unattended printing by automatically adjusting for any skew in orientation and feeds the paper/media correctly.  The vacuum feeding system keeps paper flat regardless of paper weight and type during printing, which helps ensure accurate placement of ink droplets on paper.  The GP-300 features a standby mode, which will periodically agitate the ink tanks and warms up the print head, keeping ink from drying up inside and clogging nozzles.  In the event that a nozzle gets clogged, Canon has a non-firing nozzle detection and compensation system, which turns on back –up nozzles to prevent drop-outs during a print, ensuring highest quality prints every time.

The Canon imagePROGRAF GP-300 ensures the correct balance and mixture of inks, with precise ink droplet placement, to achieve optimum quality prints at a professional grade by incorporating a new Canon’s L-COA (Large Format Common Architecture) Image Processing System.  The L-COA engine works with a 2 GB internal memory core and 500GB encrypted hard drive to process large volumes of data at high speeds.

The Canon imagePROGRAF GP-300 Large Format Printer features a vast range of connectivity options, offering versatility and flexibility to integrate into existing professional workflows.    The Canon imagePROGRAF GP-300 features Wi-Fi functionality, offering the freedom to print from a variety of devices and popular applications and for easy connection and quick setup for wireless networks, as well as a built-in high speed USB2.0 port, and Ethernet connections.  The GP-300 features fast and easy printing directly of PDF and JPEG file formats from a USB memory stick.

MANUFACTURER INFORMATION

Canon imagePROGRAF GP Series printers (5-colour  GP-200 and GP-300 and 11 colour: GP-2000 and GP-4000) use a number of advanced Canon proprietary technologies.  The Canon imagePROGRAF GP Series features “Radiant Infusion” technology, which layers newly developed fluorescent pink ink with other inks on the paper surface during printing, enabling bright and soft colour reproduction. FINE (Full-photolithography Inkjet Nozzle Engineering) print-head technology and dual print head design features a total of 15,360 nozzles (MBK, BK, C, M, Y, FP x 2560 nozzles each)  into a 1.28” high density print head. Bi-directional printing design of the imagePROGAF printers means print times are significantly faster than conventional print systems which require multiple passes for each line to compensate for uneven droplet size and placement on the paper.  An innovative ink-nozzle manufacturing method results in precisely uniform minimum 5 picolitre droplets resulting in 2400 x 1200 dots per inch (dpi) resolution.

Canon’s innovative LUCIA PRO 6 pigment ink system incorporates 5 colours and superfine 5-pl (picoliter) ink droplets, ensuring a wide colour gamut, smooth gradation, reduced graininess and reduced bronzing.  Canon’s LUCIA PRO ink system delivers exceptionally accurate colours via the FINE print head with a tubular ink delivery system that results in faster printer speeds and enables stable, high quality printing.  LUCIA Pro includes Black, Matte Black, Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, along with the newly formulated Fluorescent Pink.  LUCIA PRO ink systems have an innovative polymer structure that result in exceptional scratch resistance and protection from colour fading, while reducing bronzing to ensure durable, stable output for over 100 years.

The LUCIA PRO 5 colour models (GP-200 and GP-300) produce vivid colour expression with low ink consumption on glossy paper by microencapsulated colour materials.  5 colour models arrange the key colours of cyan, magenta, yellow, matte black, black and fluorescent pink in a mirrored layout on the print head.   Posters with high colour density can be created with fewer print passes at faster print speeds.

Canon’s new processing engine and printer architecture deliver further accuracy to ink ejection and limitation of colour unevenness.  The new L-COA (Large Format printer Common Architecture) PRO image processing technology instantly determines optimal droplet combinations to deliver best results that are faithful to the original image.  L-COA PRO delivers faster, high-quality output and print optimization by carefully calculating best results for each print mode and media using various factors including colour reproduction, tonal gradations, black density, graininess, glossiness, anti-bronzing and elimination of metamerism, all of which contribute to creating an amazing printed image.  L-COA PRO is combined with 2GB of standard memory (3 GB for GP-2000 and GP-4000) and a 500 GB encrypted hard disk, which enables high –speed processing of massive volumes of image data for demanding workflows.  Additionally, the new two-way vacuum paper feeder keeps media flat and even, assisting with accuracy of ink ejection.

Canon’s Advanced Colour Calibration is a powerful built-in colour calibration system ensuring the most stable colour reproduction attainable, preventing variability of colour output by aging changes or printer differences.  In conventional systems, changing print heads may cause a minute variation in print output, due to the density characteristics of the print head.  With Canon’s Advanced Colour Calibration, a multi-sensor measures variations in density on a printed calibration chart and then automatically applies any appropriate adjustments to ensure an exact match for long–term consistency.
